Toccoa is a city in, and the county seat of, Stephens County, Georgia, It is located approximately 50 miles from Athens & 90 miles Northeast of Atlanta, Georgia. Founded in the aftermath of the Civil War, the City of Toccoa is named for the Cherokee word for Beautiful.

Toccoa Falls is a 186 foot high beautiful waterfall and is commonly said to be the highest single drop waterfall east of the Mississippi. Toccoa Falls College encompasses the whole of Toccoa Falls, which is located only a few miles outside of downtown Toccoa. From the gift shop, it is just a short walk along the stream to the base of the falls.
